European Standard PD6662 & EN50131

From 1st October 2005 all new police calling alarm systems in England, Wales and Northern Island are required to comply with PD6662 & EN50131.This describes the changes to & grading of intruder alarm systems based on risk assessment techniques.

Police response

The Association of Chief Police Officers for England, Wales and Northern Ireland (ACPO) for Scotland (ACPOS) has introduced policies to reduce the number of false alarms that police attend. Confirmation technology is a requirement for new systems and old systems which have lost police response.
